I’ve decided to take another break from the internet. Feel free to scoff, because I’ve said that before and totally ignored my resolution. This time, I really mean it! Summer is super hectic at Casa Sorenson. Both kidlets will be home all day and my husband works a lot of weekends/long hours. I have to squeeze computer time in between trips to the park, grocery store, swimming pool, post office, etc. And I can easily spend it:
1. Updating my blog
2. Reading/commenting on other blogs, and then coming back to see if anyone has read/responded to my comment
3. Checking my email every few minutes (OMG the loops)
4. Lurking/headscratching on Twitter
5. Visiting Dear Author obsessive-compulsively
6. Googling myself (this one is really embarrassing)
7. Looking at my Amazon stats (even worse)
If I had an extra hour or two to fool around every day, doing all of this stuff would be fine. But some days an hour or two is all I get, so I have to meet my word count goals first. I’ll be available via email, of course, but blogging less.
Twitter, I’m sorry. I’m just not that into you.
I have a guest spot at Riding with the Top Down on June 24th, and I may do a contest here involving the mysterious image from “Sneak Peek” in July. Look for more giveaways and guest blogs in late August, plus the *awesome* photo tour for Set the Dark on Fire.

OMG, I was just talking to my husband about this, that I am SICK of myself for wasting so much time online. Do it! I’ll still be your friend in fall!!
Heh, Jill, I hear ya! I get like that and I don’t even have all the family stuff keeping me busy like you do.
Thanks for posting on our blog before taking your hiatus. I have you now on google reader in case you do feel the urge to communicate, I’ll see it.
And Twitter? I go in and out with that. If I post replies to people and get no response ever, then I give up. But that doesn’t happen too often. It’s one of those things that you have to keep jumping in I guess, but I don’t have the patience.
I hope you get some time to relax and play on the blogs once in a while. Oh and I got that $5 coupon from Borders that was going around on twitter and am gonna get your book, which I’ve been wanting to read since KatieB reviewed it.

Dude, one word for #3: digest.
Ann, I hate digest! It sucks the joy out of the communication for some reason. But it saves time because I just delete the whole thing.
Hi Leah! Hope you like CRASH.
CJ, thanks. I’m hoping to sneak away before someone curses, I mean GIFTS me, with that horrid award. I don’t know much about blog software, so I might be safe.
Sneaking away quietly…
Me too. I’m mostly unplugging this summer.
Have fun and enjoy yourself, Jill.
I’ll let you know about the surfing.
