going surfing

I was over at SurfingSanDiego the other day, chatting with my buddies, and one of the guys offered to lend me his foam surfboard. A foam board is softer than a regular surfboard, so it’s good for beginners. I’m sure it feels much nicer when it slams against your face.

We set up a tentative time to meet (a weekday morning when my mom can watch the kids) and I’m so excited! I’ve only been surfing once, when I was twelve. One of those hard boards busted my lip. Then I got churned up on the ocean floor a few times. It was really rough. Nothing like the picture above. That girl isn’t even watching where she’s going. What a kook. : )

I’ll let you know how it goes this time.

Yeah, I anticipate making a fool of myself. Maybe I should do push ups or something to prep. I carry the kids around but fear I will have instant spaghetti arms.

    take pictures!

    Hi Jill,

I saw your comment on Dear Author about my first page from Lucky’s Charm. Thanks so much for the kind feedback. I’ve actually changed the start of the book a bit, but I’m glad at least someone like the “original” draft. Of course that original draft was number four or five. lol

    Thanks again,
    Jenn
